On Saturday, May 17 and Sunday, May 18, Netflix kicked off FYSEE LA, a two-week citywide festival celebrating Emmy contenders across Los Angeles. There were standing room only events for Black Mirror, The Diplomat and Everybody's Live with John Mulaney featuring series stars such as Will Ferrell, Paul Giamatti, Allison Janney, Rashida Jones, John Mulaney, Keri Russell, Tracee Ellis Ross, and many more.

Netflix also hosted creative conversations with ground-breaking creators, writers, directors and actors from hit Netflix series such as Forever, The Four Seasons, Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story, Nobody Wants This, The Residence, Simone Biles Rising, and Zero Day.

Will Ferrell and Harper Steele headlined a Netflix Documentary Spotlight Event, and the first of Netflix's LA Screening Series kicked off with "Action Night" featuring director Q&As for Rebel Ridge and American Primeval.

When it is all on the line and all on your Shoulders!

Director Christopher McQuarrie’s new thriller Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning brings it all together as Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise), IMF agent and team leader, comes back on board to help the United States save the world.

As the sequel to Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning, The Final Reckoning does an excellent job of tying everything together and giving a good understanding of how and why Ethan is in the position he is in.

Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning is a good film with a lot of entertaining action scenes. Especially Ethan and Gabriel stunts running and jumping from and to airplanes, hanging off airplanes.

Christopher McQuarrie’s director has brough the Mission Impossible franchise to an incredible eighth installment. Cinematographer Fraser Taggart helps create a formidable setting providing compelling scenes in the film. Writers Bruce Geller, Erik Jendresen, Christopher McQuarrie created a script with unpredictability and credible dialogue and plots. Eddie Hamilton’s editing allows for the effortless flow from scene to scene. Max Aruj’s music works well with the scenes adding to the suspense and intrigue of the movie. The lighting and ambience help to create a bleak and hopeless situation, providing gloom and doom to back-up the gravity of the situations.

The film locations add another level of excitement as you watch Ethan run for his and the life of the world through Malta, Norway, South Africa, and the United Kingdom. And having the opportunity to actual shoot on the aircraft carrier George H.W. Bush in Apulia, Italy certainly helps carry the story along.

Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning puts Ethan in the middle of the bullseye and he puts his life all on the line to help save the United States and the world. A very entertaining movie that keeps you engaged. A film worth seeing.

Where Vision Meets Possibility

We’re excited to announce a new addition to this year’s program: the Tribeca Storytelling Summit — a festival-within-the-festival for the entire filmmaking community.

The multi-day summit will take place June 5-15 alongside the Festival, bringing together visionary filmmakers, storytellers, and industry leaders for thoughtfully curated panels, intimate workshops, and networking opportunities. Designed specifically to help foster collaboration and supercharge careers, this year’s inaugural Storytelling Summit will be the start of the next wave of storytelling success in TV, film, digital media, and beyond.

To kick things off, we announced our first featured speakers, including Christine Vachon, Julio Torres, Steve Buscemi and Wren Arthur, Jeremy O. Harris, and our own Jane Rosenthal. When you attend our Storytelling Summit, you’ll gain insights from industry veterans like these, while also connecting with a diverse group of fellow creatives (and maybe even see a film or two).

Winners for Outstanding Editing In Film, Television and Documentaries were announced today, Friday, March 14, 2025, in Los Angeles at UCLA’s Royce Hall

American Cinema Editors (ACE) announced today the winners for the 75th Annual ACE Eddie Awards, recognizing outstanding editing in 14 categories of film, television and documentaries. The winners were announced at the live ceremony at UCLA’s Royce Hall.

Acclaimed filmmaker Jon M. Chu received the ACE Golden Eddie Filmmaker of the Year Award, recognizing a filmmaker who exemplifies distinguished achievement in the art and business of film. About American Cinema Editors

American Cinema Editors (ACE) is an honorary society that has been championing the art, craft and business of film editing since 1950. Through signature events like EditFest Global, the ACE Eddie Awards and Invisible Art/Visible Artists, the organization celebrates the vital role of editors in storytelling and provides a dynamic global platform to illuminate the craft. ACE is committed to elevating the profile of film editing, fostering a diverse and inclusive community and educating future generations through a variety of active mentorship and scholarship programs. Through its programs, publications (CinemaEditor), podcasts (Editors on Editing, Global Editing Perspectives) and active educational activities, this collective of accomplished film editors is at the forefront of both preserving cinematic history while simultaneously preparing the next generation of film editors in a continuously evolving artistic climate.
