Director Nisha Ganatra’s Freaky Friday is a sequel to the 2003 film and brings back Oscar winner Jamie Lee Curtis and Lynsey Lohan in their hilarious roles as Tess Coleman  and Anna Coleman.

Director Derek Cianfrance’s new film ‘ROOFMAN’ tells the incredible story of  Jeffrey Manchester (Channing Tatum), a former United States Army Reserve officer, who was given the name Roofman after becoming infamous for burglarizing McDonald’s by entering through the roof and avoiding capture by hiding inside the walls of a Toys "R" Us.

The African American Film Critics Association (AAFCA) and American Cinematheque Celebrate Mara Brock Akil on Juneteenth

On Thursday, Juneteenth, the African American Film Critics Association (AAFCA) and American Cinematheque paid  special tribute to celebrated Mara Brock Akil,

The sit-down discussion took place at American Cinematheque’s AERO Theater in Santa Monica, before a packed and engaged audience.     Her film career includes With Honors, Sparkle, The Start Up, Stamped from the Beginning.

Mara’s television career includes: The Sinbad Show, Keep the Faith", South Central, Dave's World, Moesha, The Jamie Foxx Show, Girlfriends, The Game", Leading Women, Cougar Town, Being Mary Jane, Reed Between the Lines         Love Is Yes, "The Vineyard"

In this narrative feature, a Juilliard-trained violinist is struggling to make a living when her toxic ex reappears with the chance to play viola in a prestigious orchestra. From writer, director, and star Isabel Hagen (who also happens to be a Juilliard-trained violinist), this laugh-out-loud comedy is also her directorial debut.

Judging films in competition will be visionaries ranging from Colson Whitehead to Mira Sorvino to Matthew Broderick and Art Linson to Ilana Glazer — and those are just a few names on the list. The likes of Annie Murphy, Jennifer Beals, Brian Jordan Alvarez, Gina Rodriguez, Stephanie Hsu, and more will deliberate on the Nora Ephron Award, the 2025 Viewpoints Competition, and the AT&T Untold Stories Greenlight Committee.

Winners will be announced at the Tribeca Festival Awards Ceremony on June 12th.
