ABOUT THE LAST ONE FOR THE ROAD

The bottom has fallen out for Carlobianchi and Doriano, two small-time Italian crooks. They haven’t been able to mount an honest scam since the 2008 financial crisis and now face the impending mediocrity of middle age. The return of an exiled partner-in-crime from Argentina affords a second chance for long-buried riches, but can Carlobianchi and Doriano put down their beers long enough to keep their eyes on the prize?

Along their slow motion, alcoholic grand tour of the Venetian countryside, they cross paths with Giulio (Filippo Scotti, The Hand of God), a shy architecture student who reluctantly warms to the sodden pair and indulges their rants about the folly of globalization and the slow decline of local color.

Each roadside tavern offers the promise of one last drink – unless the next one ups the ante. Francesco Sossai’s dazzling sophomore feature is many things at once: a road movie, a casual caper, a tribute to a vanishing industrial Italy, a scruffy intergenerational odyssey, and free-flowing bender through time and space.

Informed by the historical figures of Joan of Arc, Cleopatra and Russian cavalry officer Nadezhda Durova, Agon explores a contemporary account of the contradictions of these sports, which began as a practice for wartime in peacetime, evolved into professional sports and entertainment, and in recent times embrace video games to create a new form of competitive sport.

About Giulio Bertelli

Giulio Bertelli was born in Milan in 1990. He studied architecture at the Architectural Association (AA). Since 2012, he has been a professional offshore sailor, involved in the technical side of performance sailboat development. As a visiting lecturer at the AA, Giulio focuses on the relationship between filmmaking, architectural design and scriptwriting. He's the founder of OKOMdsu, a research and design studio, and most recently launched Akta, a freeze-dried food company.

BÚI DAM is a director, actor, and musician born who grew up in The Faroe Islands in a family of artists. He studied theater directing at the Danish National School of Performing Arts, acting at the London School of Dramatic Art, and music at FÍH in Iceland. He was mentored by Indian poet and playwright H. S. Shivaprakash and American jazz saxophonist John Purcell. He began his career as a jazz guitarist and composer, performing with renowned singer Eivør as well as other local musicians. A hand injury forced him to give up the guitar and step onto the stage as a singer and performer. Under the name BUDAM, he released two studio albums and toured extensively throughout Europe. He also composed music for several theater productions. He later transitioned fully into theater and film, acting, writing and directing.

Dam’s work has earned him several awards, including Best Short Film at The Geytin Film Awards (2020), Best Actor at the Winter Film Awards in New York (2021), and the prestigious M. A. Jacobsen Award for his play Castle of Joy (2022). BIRITA is his first feature film.

BIRITA MOHR (born 1950) is a retired Faroese actress. She was a leading figure in Faroese theater for more than three decades, performing memorable roles in productions such as Antigone,The Crucible, The Prostitutes Will Precede You into the Kingdom of Heaven, The Lost Musicians, The Vagina Monologues, The Cherry Orchard, and many others. Her film credits include ATLANTIC RHAPSODY and BYE BYE BLUEBIRD, both directed by Katrin Ottarsdóttir.

In 2023, Birita was awarded the prestigious Cultural Honorary Award by the Faroese government for her lifelong contribution to Faroese theater.

On Wednesday, December 10^th, the Entertainment Media Coalition Committee and the Allisance of Women Directors and BDAI Host Directing Bold Moves: The Voices of Black Women in Action Filmmaking held a much needed conversation with black women in action film. Held at the The Odyssey Theatre in Los Angeles.

The in dept and informative panel was moderated by multi talented writer, director ad actress Millena Gay and included trail blazers Morenike Joela Evans, Natascha Hopkins, Faye Baker.

The ladies provided valuable information on getting into the stunt business and well as the pit falls one will encounter working in the profession.

Millena Gay an award-winning producer, director and actress whose dynamic career spans nearly three decades. A native of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, Millena graduated from the University of Virginia’s pre-law program, but a transformative and title-winning performance as Sojourner Truth during the Ms. Black World Pageant shifted her trajectory toward the arts.

Morenike Joela Evans is an Emmy-Nominated Director, Writer and Creative Producer known for her calm leadership, clear vision and positive vibes on set. Shes passionate about directing stories for TV & Film that are compelling, provoking and have heart;

Natascha Hopkins is a multifaceted Hollywood stuntwoman, actress, producer, and entrepreneur, recognized as a distinguished member of Who’s Who in America and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Born in Germany and raised across Saudi Arabia and Texas, she earned her B.A. in Psychology from Texas Woman’s University, where she was an All-American gymnast, team captain, and recipient of multiple leadership awards;

La Faye Baker is a trailblazing stuntwoman, coordinator, and visionary whose groundbreaking career has helped reshape opportunities for women in Hollywood action films. In 1999, she made history as the first Black woman to coordinate a major production with HBO’s Introducing Dorothy Dandridge, starring Halle Berry

Carrie Bernans is a proud mom, 2 time SAG Award–winning and 1 time SAG-nominated actress, stunt performer, and philanthropist with over 9 years of experience and 100+ credits spanning film, television, video games, and motion capture. She’s brought power and purpose to global hits like Marvel’s Black Panther, Avengers: Endgame, and X-Men, as well as acclaimed gaming franchises. Beyond the screen, Carrie serves as a Peer Group Leader with the Television Academy, helping to advocate parents and caregivers in entertainment. As the founder of the CB Seed Foundation, she has empowered more than 1,200 families through programs focused on youth development, financial literacy, and community uplift. With heart, hustle, and hope, Carrie continues to inspire others to rise, create, and lead with resilience.
