Ah, there’s nothing like a good crime story. And we’ve got it all: unsolved murder mysteries, mob-run poker games gone awry, the case of a stolen magic trick, and not one—but two—investigations from Ronan Farrow. These picks range from the hyperreal to entirely unrealistic, and are sure to scratch the itch for anyone interested in no good.

Since its inception, Tribeca has prided itself on being a discovery Festival. A place where storytellers can begin—and as their careers develop, a home they can return to time and time again. Whether they’re making their feature debutputting on their producer hat, or returning to premiere another headline-making music documentary, we’re excited to have so many alumni.

One of the great thrills of attending Tribeca is discovering new directorial talent — storytellers destined to reshape our cinematic future. Though you might recognize a handful of the names here (a few have graced our screens in acting roles or created award-winning short films), you’ll want to keep an eye on them as they make their next big move in the feature-film space.

If you believe that being boring is the biggest crime a story can commit, then you’ve come to the right corner of Tribeca. These titles, spanning filmpodcastTV, and more, take big swings that pay off in bigger dividends. No yawns here.
